Latinos en Optometry is a national nonprofit professional association dedicated to increasing Latino representation in optometry and improving access to culturally responsive eye care. Through education, professional development, and public awareness efforts, we engage students, educators, optometrists, and industry partners nationwide.

Expanding Pathways into Eye Care

For 2025's Hispanic Heritage Month, we were thrilled to announce that Latinas in STEM is partnering with Barbie
to honor Dr. Ellen Ochoa, the first Latina astronaut in space! 

​Thanks to Barbie’s generous support, we’ve been rolling out a yearlong series of events designed to inspire and empower the next generation of Latinas in STEM.
