Latinas in STEM's core curriculum is the Latinas in STEM 101 Conference. Focused on underserved communities, the conference provides a two-prong approach:
- Educating student participants in STEM related fields, through hands-on interactive activities.
- Educating parents so they can become a stronger support system for their daughters, understand financial alternatives to paying for college, and gain a better understanding of STEM needs in the current and future workforce.
STEM 101 DAY
Our most recent STEM 101 Days were held in November 2024 at the Passaic Gifted & Talented Academy (Passaic, NJ) and Sam Houston Elementary School (Eagle Pass, TX). Over 200 middle-schoolers worked in teams of two (with guidance from our Latinas in STEM volunteers and teaching staff) to build and race DIY robot crawlers! We hope to visit more schools in 2025!
Our Latinas in STEM 101 Conferences would not be possible if not for the generosity of our volunteers and sponsors! Please feel free to wander through our video archive, photo gallery, view our sponsors, or go straight to our STEM 101 Conference by clicking on one of the links below. Enjoy!
