The San Leandro Education Foundation is proud to partner with the Latinas in STEM Foundation to host the Latinas in STEM 101 Conference in San Leandro, CA. Latinas in STEM 101 is a series of nationwide workshops, developed by the Latinas in STEM Foundation, focused on inspiring middle school students (and their parents) to pursue and thrive in STEM fields.
All San Leandro students, both boys and girls of any ethnicity, in grades 6-8 are welcome.The conference is $5.00 for each student (parents and volunteers are free!) and will include continental breakfast, lunch and an event t-shirt. To confirm your registration, your payment must be received by your parent facilitators (Ms. Garcia for Bancroft or Ms. Vega for John Muir) school NO LATER than September 22, 2016.
Keynote talks to be delivered by prominent Latinas in STEM careers. Additional conference features include a hands-on activity, workshops exploring STEM fields, a company EXPO, personal stories by current professionals in STEM fields, and parent information sessions.
